The Board of Commissioners of the Brighton Fire District No. 5 consists of five publicly elected commissioners. Commissioners are elected to a five year term. The secretary and treasurer are appointed annually.
The Board of Commissioners is responsible for purchasing the necessary firefighting equipment, apparatus and protective gear for all firefighters. The Board maintains three fire stations in the Brighton Fire District:

The Board establishes a budget to fund needs of the fire district annually. The Board also meets monthly to conduct regular business. These meetings are printed in the Tonawanda News, which is the official paper of the Fire District. Workshop meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm. The regular business meeting is held on the third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm. |
